Member meetings are one of the unique ways we as a credit union celebrate our members and showcase our operational strength. This event is a great way to learn more about our volunteer Board of Directors, meet our Executive Team, and have fun with your family and community.
Notice to Members
We, the Nominating Committee, have proposed these candidates for the three (3) expiring positions on the Board of Directors:
John Carrier
Heather Karcz
Colleen Van Zeeland
You are hereby advised of your right under Article V, Section 4 of the Credit Union’s bylaws to submit to the Chairperson on or before May 09, 2025, a petition requesting your nomination as a nominee to the credit union’s Board of Directors. Your petition must be signed by at least one percent (1%) of the members eligible to vote at meetings of the members of the Credit Union. If no member submits a petition, the Chairperson shall take a voice vote or declare each nominee elected by acclamation at the annual meeting and there shall be no election by ballot.

John Carrier
John Carrier has been a member of Capital Credit Union since 1998 and has served on the Board of Directors from 2009-2016 and from 2018 to the present. He currently chairs the Enterprise Risk Management Committee. John retired from a 36-year career in Information Technology in 2021, holding various technology and leadership positions at both private and public organizations. He was also a business and technology adjunct instructor and guest lecturer in higher education. Currently, Mr. Carrier works part-time with Lamers Bus Lines and the City of Green Bay. He also serves as a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Green Bay flotilla. John holds an undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems and a master’s degree in Business Administration.

Heather Karcz
Heather has served on the Board of Directors since 2009. She also currently serves on the Enterprise Risk Management Committee at Capital Credit Union. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Regional Analysis from UW-Green Bay. She is President of ZK Financial Group and practices as a licensed financial advisor who guides small business owners and families toward sustainable financial well-being. She enjoys helping people simplify, organize, and coordinate wealth management aspects that many people often find overwhelming. Heather earned her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional certification through the College for Financial Planning in Denver by completing rigorous education, experience, and ethical requirements. She was raised in the Green Bay area and continues to give back to her community by volunteering on other non-profit organization Boards in the Green Bay area.

Colleen Van Zeeland
Colleen Van Zeeland has been a member of Capital Credit Union since 1992 and has served on the Board of Directors since 2004. She is currently the Board Secretary. Colleen has over 20 years of experience in teaching, cognitive skills training, and tutoring. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin. In 2014, Colleen joined a distinguished group of less than four hundred people worldwide, when she earned her Certified Credit Union Volunteer designation and the outstanding achievement award for her high marks, Annual BSA training, executive compensation from Burns Fazzi Brock and CUNA Mutual, and strategic planning sessions.
