Whatever type of loan you’re applying for, here are a few tips to help speed up the process:
Construction Loan
When applying for a loan for home construction, be sure to bring along the following:
- Copies of W-2 forms from the past two years
- Copies of current check stub(s) from your employer(s)
- If self-employed, bring copies of business and personal taxes from the past two years
- A copy of the blueprints to your new home
- A copy of the building contract
- A copy of the deed for the lot (if you are the current owner)
Home Purchase Loan
When applying for a loan for the purchase of an existing home, you will need to bring along the following items:
- Copies of W-2 forms from the past two years
- Copies of current check stub(s) from your employer(s)
- If self-employed, bring copies of business and personal taxes from the past two years
- Offer to purchase
Home Refinance Loan
When applying to refinance your home loan, you will need to bring along the following items:
- Copies of W-2 forms from the past two years
- Copies of current check stub(s) from your employer(s)
- If self-employed, bring copies of business and personal taxes from the past two years
- Statement from present mortgage holder
- Copy of deed to home or title insurance policy
- Copy of current homeowners insurance
