Whatever type of loan you’re applying for, here are a few tips to help speed up the process:

Construction Loan

When applying for a loan for home construction, be sure to bring along the following:

  • Copies of W-2 forms from the past two years
  • Copies of current check stub(s) from your employer(s)
  • If self-employed, bring copies of business and personal taxes from the past two years
  • A copy of the blueprints to your new home
  • A copy of the building contract
  • A copy of the deed for the lot (if you are the current owner)

Home Purchase Loan

When applying for a loan for the purchase of an existing home, you will need to bring along the following items:

  • Copies of W-2 forms from the past two years
  • Copies of current check stub(s) from your employer(s)
  • If self-employed, bring copies of business and personal taxes from the past two years
  • Offer to purchase

Home Refinance Loan

When applying to refinance your home loan, you will need to bring along the following items:

  • Copies of W-2 forms from the past two years
  • Copies of current check stub(s) from your employer(s)
  • If self-employed, bring copies of business and personal taxes from the past two years
  • Statement from present mortgage holder
  • Copy of deed to home or title insurance policy
  • Copy of current homeowners insurance
